A Family Legacy of Craftsmanship

Our shop’s history goes back decades, beginning in the 1950s when the first generation of our family opened the doors right here in Grass Valley. Arlie Tripp started the shop in 1954 (Todd’s Grandfather). Over the years, the business was eventually passed down to David Tripp (Todd’s Dad) in 1977, and then Darroll (Todd’s Uncle and David’s brother) joined in 1977. Family members joined at different points, bringing their own skills and dedication, and helping shape the shop into what it is today.

In 1988, ownership transitioned to the current generation, Todd, continuing a hands-on approach and a deep personal investment in every auto body and collision repair. This long-standing involvement means that when you bring your vehicle to Tripp’s Auto Body, you’re not just getting a service, you’re benefiting from decades of experience and pride in the work.

Growing With the Industry

While our roots are traditional, our approach is anything but outdated. As vehicles have evolved, so have we. About a decade ago, we moved into a new, state-of-the-art facility designed to meet the demands of modern collision repair. This upgrade allows us to work more efficiently while maintaining the high standards our customers expect.
